Manage Applications

This is an overview of the application registration process.

• Sandbox

Sandbox is a non-production environment for App Developer(s) to register their application and test the API(s) end to end from their application. Developer(s) will get credentials for their application upon successful registration. Application is approved to call API(s) in sandbox by default. Once the developer finishes testing, the developer needs to promote the application to production environment for approval process to begin.

• Production environment is for working with real data. Application needs to be tested and validated in sandbox environment before promoting it to production. CareFirst will approve the application for production use. Once the application is approved, the developer will be notified via email. The application can use the app credentials in production only after approval by CareFirst.
